The Delhi government will empanel 100 additional hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) within 10 days, taking the total to 165 facilities. The updated list is expected to include major private chains like Fortis Healthcare, Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh said, adding that a formal launch is planned for early September.

Currently, 151 hospitals 107 private and 44 government are part of the scheme in Delhi, according to the National Health Authority. Singh said top private hospitals had been hesitant to join earlier due to unpaid dues under the Delhi Arogya Kosh (DAK) scheme, but most of the ₹100 crore backlog has now been cleared. Fortis has applied for empanelment, he confirmed.

Delhi became the 35th state or Union Territory to adopt AB-PMJAY after signing MoUs with the Union health ministry in April. Beneficiaries are entitled to ₹10 lakh of annual health cover ₹5 lakh from the Centre and ₹5 lakh from the state for 1,961 procedures across 27 specialties, including medicines, diagnostics, surgeries, and ICU care.
