Center has Formed the National Allied and Healthcare Advisory Council

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a notice regarding the establishment of the National Allied and Healthcare Advisory Council which will operate under the direction of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHCP) Act of 2021. This counsel was officially recommended on the 23rd of May, 2025, to help manage and steer the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions.

Composition of the Advisory Council:

These arrangements claim to ensure effective inclusiveness as a contribution toward cooperative governance is made from both national and sub-national tiers and in so doing, submissions are expected towards planning the future of the allied and healthcare professions in the country.

Purpose and Responsibilities:

The Allied and Healthcare Professions Council Act 2025 assigned the Advisory Council the role of providing expert advice to the National Commission on fundamental matters related to the governance and development of the allied and healthcare professions. This will encapsulate such elements as:

The Advisory Council is being formed as part of the implementing strategy of the 2021 Act. There is control, regulation, and enhanced level of education and work among allied and healthcare professionals in India. This will assist in the development of well trained and ethical healthcare professionals and the entire system of the country for the purpose of receiving healthcare services which will be of good quality.”
