The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has rolled out a new feature tooltips on its SUGAM and Medical Device Online portals to improve transparency, ensure better regulatory compliance, and simplify the application process for stakeholders.

In an official circular, CDSCO announced that the addition of these tooltips is intended to enhance user experience by offering real-time, contextual guidance during form submissions. The tooltips provide specific instructions and explanations for each field in the application forms, helping users understand exactly what information is required. This is expected to reduce errors, improve the quality of submissions, and streamline the approval process.

Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India, emphasized in the circular that the tooltips are aimed at helping users submit more accurate and complete applications by offering clear input guidelines. The circular also encourages all users to make full use of the new feature while completing forms on the SUGAM and Medical Device Online portals.

“These tooltips can be accessed by hovering over the help text or the information icon next to each field,” the circular explained.

CDSCO highlighted that this initiative reflects its continued efforts to promote regulatory clarity, improve operational efficiency, and support a more user-friendly digital environment. It also aims to reduce inconsistencies and omissions in submitted applications.
