Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu visited the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam on 23 April, where he toured the Wadi Surgicals manufacturing unit and commended the progress made in India’s medical manufacturing sector.

Accompanied by AMTZ Founder and CEO Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Naidu inspected the advanced nitrile glove production facility and was briefed on its upcoming expansion plans. He expressed satisfaction with the growth of AMTZ, noting that the groundwork for the zone was laid nearly a decade ago.

Highlighting its impact, Naidu said the initiative has played a key role in enhancing India’s capacity in producing medical devices and consumables. Officials shared that the facility is ramping up its output to around three million gloves per day, catering to both domestic needs and export markets.

The visit underscored the importance of such manufacturing hubs in supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission and strengthening self-sufficiency in healthcare.

K. Anindith Reddy said the company remains focused on delivering high-quality medical products while utilizing the AMTZ ecosystem to foster innovation.
