Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited has appointed Dr Venkatesan N as Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), strengthening its leadership team with an experienced healthcare procurement and supply-chain professional.
Dr Venkatesan brings extensive experience in healthcare procurement, materials management, pharmacy operations, commercial functions and supply-chain management. His career spans several major healthcare organisations, with leadership roles covering both strategic procurement and day-to-day supply operations.
Before joining Apollo Hospitals, he served as Director and Chief Procurement Officer – Supply Chain Management at Max Healthcare, where he led procurement and supply-chain functions.
Experience Across Major Healthcare Organisations
Earlier, Dr Venkatesan held multiple leadership positions at HealthCare Global, progressing through roles including General Manager, Senior General Manager and Vice President – Supply Chain Management. He also served as Group Head for Purchase, Stores and Supply Chain Management.
His professional experience includes roles with BLK Super Speciality Hospital, Paras Healthcare and Fortis Healthcare, giving him exposure to procurement, materials and commercial operations across different healthcare settings.
Dr Venkatesan has also previously been associated with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited, along with organisations including MEDSOURCE Healthcare and SPH Fire Systems.
Focus on Procurement and Supply Chain
His professional background covers purchasing, materials management, pharmacy operations, commercial management and supply-chain leadership. These functions play a key role in ensuring the availability of medicines, medical supplies and other essential materials across healthcare operations.
In his new role as CPO, Dr Venkatesan will oversee procurement and materials-related functions at Apollo Hospitals, bringing together his experience in healthcare sourcing, supply-chain management and commercial operations.
The appointment adds an experienced procurement and supply-chain leader to Apollo Hospitals’ senior management team as the organisation continues to manage procurement requirements across its healthcare operations.
