A dedicated MedTech Capital Fund has been launched through a strategic partnership between Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam, and MedArtha Capital to support the growth of India’s medical technology sector.

The platform was officially unveiled by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at a programme in Mumbai on March 15, according to an official release.

The initiative aims to provide growth capital and strategic support to emerging medical device companies, enabling start-ups to expand research, innovation, and manufacturing capabilities in India.

Jitendra Sharma, Founder, Managing Director and CEO of AMTZ, said the fund will help scale innovations developed by Indian entrepreneurs and position the country as a global leader in medical technology through strong engineering and cost-efficient manufacturing.

Ganesh Sabat, Managing Partner at MedArtha Capital, said the operator-led platform will work closely with entrepreneurs and leverage specialized infrastructure at AMTZ to build globally competitive MedTech companies.
