Give Life Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Amrita Hospital, Faridabad to strengthen India’s bone marrow donor registry and roll out a nationwide “Swab for Life” initiative to promote voluntary stem-cell donor registrations.

The agreement was formalised by Dr. Bart S. Fisher, Chairman of Give Life Foundation, and Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director of Amrita Hospital Faridabad. The signing took place in the presence of Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Dr. Pravas Mishra, and Dr. Sanjaanaa Jon who has played a key role in fostering global healthcare partnerships and social advocacy.

Global partnership to save lives

The collaboration highlights the urgent need to expand India’s stem cell donor pool. With nearly 1.2 million people diagnosed with blood-related diseases every year and fewer than seven million registered donors, the gap is significant. The Swab for Life campaign aims to build awareness, encourage voluntary donor sign-ups, and improve patient access to bone marrow transplants through education and outreach.

“This partnership is a landmark in global healthcare cooperation,” said Dr. Fisher. “Our goal is to ensure that every patient, regardless of background or location, has access to life-saving therapy. Working with Amrita Hospital brings us closer to the humanitarian vision of Amma compassion put into action.”

Representing Amrita Hospital, Ram Ganapathi remarked, “We are honored to work with the Give Life Foundation on this impactful mission. This initiative truly reflects Amma’s commitment to serving humanity with science, empathy, and unity.”

Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Medical Superintendent, added, “India urgently needs a stronger donor registry. Through this MoA, we aim to create an environment where awareness, education, and access come together to deliver compassionate care.”

Dr. Pravas Mishra, Head of Hematology and BMT, noted, “The Swab for Life campaign has the potential to save thousands of lives. It is a crucial step in making bone marrow transplants accessible for every patient who needs one”.

Dr. Sanjaanaa Jon, Global Ambassador for Give Life Foundation and founder of PACT and the H2O Movement, highlighted the wider humanitarian significance: “This agreement reflects the power of unity and kindness. It creates a ripple of hope bringing the world together through empathy and shared responsibility”.

Shared mission and rollout

The Swab for Life initiative will officially launch at Amrita Hospital Faridabad in 2026, in alignment with Amma’s vision of a united global family working for collective well-being. Give Life Foundation will lead advocacy and fundraising efforts in India and the US, while Amrita Hospital will provide high-quality clinical care and patient education.

Both organizations reaffirm their commitment to bringing hope, healing, and life to patients who need it most.
