The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Gujarat State Branch, will organise a Candle Prayer Meeting on January 30, 2026, to mark COVID Martyrs’ Day, paying tribute to doctors who lost their lives while fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the announcement released by IMA Gujarat, the event aims to honour medical professionals who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty during the public health crisis. The programme will include candle lighting and prayers in memory of the deceased doctors.
The initiative is being held under the leadership of Dr Anil D. Patel, President, IMA Gujarat; Dr Tushar B. Patel, Hon. State Secretary; and Dr Ashish A. Bhojak, Hon. Treasurer.
IMA Gujarat has called upon members of the medical fraternity to participate in the observance as a mark of respect and solidarity, reaffirming the association’s commitment to remembering the sacrifices made by healthcare workers during the pandemic.
