The Uttar Pradesh government has approved ₹13.46 crore to upgrade 20 hospitals across the state with modern medical equipment, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced.

Pathak said the investment will help facilities procure advanced machines to ensure faster and more accurate diagnosis, stressing that timely identification of diseases is essential for effective treatment. The upgrades include digital X-ray, ECG and ultrasound systems, along with specialised tools for small-incision cataract surgery to improve surgical success and reduce patient recovery time.

“Hospitals are being equipped with state-of-the-art machines to deliver precise and timely diagnostic services,” Pathak said.

Hospitals set to receive new equipment include Motilal Nehru Divisional Hospital in Prayagraj, District Women’s Hospital in Bareilly, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital in Moradabad, and Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. Other facilities in Lakhimpur, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Mahoba, Jhansi, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Mau and Auraiya are also covered.

Additionally, a newly built 50-bed hospital in Mirzapur will be equipped with ophthalmology infrastructure and modern operation theatres. Administrative and financial clearance has been granted to initiate these upgrades.
