FICCI co-hosted a high-level roundtable aimed at boosting cooperation between India and Russia in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors during the India-Russia Business Forum held on December 5, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The discussion spotlighted major opportunities for expanding partnership in the medical devices industry, particularly in areas such as localisation, innovation, and integrated manufacturing.
Moderated by H.E. Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the session featured in-depth conversations on enhancing bilateral MedTech engagement, aligning regulatory frameworks, and fostering advanced technology partnerships.
Representatives of FICCI’s Medical Devices Committee Mr. Himanshu Baid, Managing Director of Polymedicure Limited; Mr. Gurmit Singh Chugh, Chairman of Translumina Therapeutics; and Mr. Praveen Kumar Mittal, Executive Director of the Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices (EPCMD) emphasised India’s capabilities in producing high-quality, cost-effective medical technologies. They highlighted the advantages offered by dedicated Medical Device Parks, advanced diagnostic infrastructure, and a rapidly evolving innovation ecosystem.
Key areas identified for deeper cooperation included Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostics, Cardiovascular devices, and MedTech R&D.
FICCI reaffirmed its commitment to fostering impactful global partnerships that strengthen the MedTech ecosystem and support a more resilient, innovation-led healthcare future.
