Aster DM Healthcare is accelerating its expansion in India, solidifying its position among the country’s top three hospital networks. The company’s growth strategy is backed by significant capital investment and a major merger that is set to reshape its footprint in the Indian healthcare sector.

At present, Aster operates 5,199 beds across India, including 889 in Andhra Pradesh. Over the next few years, it plans to add 2,632 more beds, bringing its total capacity to more than 7,800. The expansion comes as part of a ₹26 billion investment programme, with ₹4 billion already allocated toward new infrastructure and upgrades.

Financially, Aster India continues to show strong performance, achieving a 20% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue over the past five years, reaching ₹41.38 billion in FY25. Operating EBITDA has grown even faster at a 38% CAGR to ₹8.06 billion, reflecting improved efficiency and higher patient inflow.

During Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s recent three-day visit to the UAE, Aster’s Founder Chairman Dr. Azad Moopen and MD & Group CEO Alisha Moopen met him in Dubai to discuss potential healthcare collaborations and investment opportunities in the state.

Aster’s growth trajectory is further supported by its planned merger with Quality Care India Limited (QCIL), announced in November 2024 and currently awaiting regulatory approvals. Once completed, the merger will position the combined entity among India’s top three hospital operators, with a total capacity of over 14,190 beds and a stronger presence across tier-1 and tier-2 cities.

Dr. Azad Moopen highlighted the company’s focus on both expansion and innovation, saying, “Our aim is not only to grow but also to revolutionize healthcare delivery through technology and strategic partnerships.”

With a strong financial foundation, a clear expansion plan, and a transformative merger in progress, Aster DM Healthcare is well on its way to becoming a leading force in India’s healthcare industry.
